We rented a small cottage in Washington, VA (close to the Shenandoah Mtns and Skyline Drive) last weekend. It was only an hour and half outside of DC. Despite the rain we had a great time!

Radim and Sophie bundled up on on our hike. It was really cold. Thankfully the rain had subsided so we could hike for a couple hours.
There were lots of beautiful ferns...
and one cat skeleton. If you turn your head sideways you'll see that the nose hadn't decomposed yet...pretty gross. Not sure where the rest of the body was. I didn't really want to hang around to find out.
On the way back we made a quick yogurt stop at one of the overlooks...
but really Radim needed help with directions!
